A Grand Teton National Park Formals Session at String Lake & Cathedral Group Turnout
Three weeks after Mady and Michael celebrated their August wedding in Idaho Falls, they put their wedding attire back on for one more adventure together. This time, we headed to Grand Teton National Park for the mountain views Michael had been hoping for.
Mady is originally from Idaho, while Michael is from Chicago, and seeing the Tetons through his eyes made this session even more special. He was completely in awe of the mountains, and after their wedding day, they wanted the opportunity to slow down and take in a completely different backdrop for their formal photos.
Our first attempt did not exactly go according to plan. We made the trip toward Jackson Hole, only to get rained out and have to reschedule the session for later that week. Thankfully, the second time was worth the wait.
We started their Grand Teton National Park formals session at String Lake before making our way to Cathedral Group Turnout. With the dramatic peaks of the Tetons surrounding us, their session had the perfect balance of romance, elegance, and a more mature feel that fit them so well.
One of my favorite things about offering wedding formals sessions after the wedding day is that there is no timeline waiting for you. No guests wondering where you are, no rushing back to the reception, and no pressure to fit every portrait into a small window of time. Instead, you get to put your wedding attire back on, choose a location you love, and create something completely different from your wedding day photos.

For Mady and Michael, it meant getting the mountain photos they had hoped for, even if Mother Nature made us wait a few extra days. And honestly, I think they were worth the wait.
